Today, I want to share a moment to discuss the issue of dark spots on skin. Before you start reading this article, let me say you and I have the same ambition when it comes to our skin. I know you really desire to have smooth, clear and even complexion every day of your life.
I am also like you and so it is for all of us.
Naturally, you and I don’t want our skin to be synonymous to a Dalmatian… unless for those who may want to set a new trend in that regard. And I know that is not your ambition.
Now continue reading the rest after the image below…
Now the cheerless truth is, even when cleansing is done regularly, many some people still, unfortunately, develop dark spots which dermatologists refer to as hyper- pigmentation. It comes out as pockets of discolored skin which remain even after pimples or skin bumps have disappeared.
Many factors from either external or internal can cause hyper-pigmentation. Some diseases of the internal factors are Edison's and some hepatic problems. For instance, taking too much iron can cause darker areas on the skin. And hormonal changes during pregnancy or menopause also have a role to play. Also lacking certain vitamins and minerals like calcium and vitamins A, E and B can cause hyper-pigmentation.
However, the common offender is the increase in melanin that arises following skin inflammation or irritation, or too much exposure to sun. People from areas like the South Asians and Latinos who naturally have darker skin tones are more likely to face this kind of problem.
Although you can treat persistent dark spots at home, yet health experts advise that you should FIRST check with your dermatologist so as to ensure that the spot is harmless and can be left alone in place. But once that is taken care of, there’re simple routes you can take to effectively get rid of dark spots in your skin. For some people, simply using creams and sun block might work, while others might require skin peelings. Which ever ways that may work out, it is best to consult your dermatologist.
Now see few simple ideas to remove those stubborn dark spots:
1)
Don’t forget the fact that skin bleaching is not instant. In reality, you may have to wait up to 3 months - even to a full year before the darkened skin gets faded off, though this depend on the type of skin tone you have. And don’t abuse your skin. So persistent skin disorder such as acne that leaves scars should be treated immediately so as to put a stop to the cycle as soon as possible.
2)
Use a product that contains mild hydroquinone. This is the main component in most skin bleaches. If you can’t put up with hydroquinone, then, I advice that you try skin brighteners. Hydroquinone is generally used with glycolic acid and tretinoin.
3)
Use sunscreen daily with SPF 15 or higher. It’s a wise thing to block the sun that darkens your skin. This will also help minimize the risk of acquiring skin cancers.
Always remember that saying of old - ‘prevention is better than cure’ to be your guide regarding your skin care.
