Dear Man - Do You Know How Your Skin Works?

Please accept my kind apology for coming two days behing schedule. My PC has totally refused to co-operate with me. Even right now I am getting across to you on a public computer.

Please read the what I have for today after the line below.

If I should pose a question to you by asking you to tell me how you would like without skin. Can we try to imagine what your answer will be? The same for everyone - it’s funny to visualize how we would all be looking like without our beautiful skin covering us up! I believe this will be too disgusting to unravel within our imagination system.

Your skin, the truth and your life. The skin is actually the largest vital organ of the human body. It generously covers you up; keeps you warm and keeps you cool. The skin also helps you decides what good to absorbed and what bad to be rejected.

However if you skin is clogged and unhealthy, then you will not only have beauty problem but it’ll become a hindrance to your sense of wellness and general vitality. Taking proper care of your skin is vitally important, not only to your personal sense of beauty but also to proper elimination, more graceful aging and general health.

Your skin also acts as the mechanical barrier to infections that may otherwise want infest you for destruction. It eventually prevents micro-organisms and other negative substances entering the body.

Langerhans cells - a type of macrophage. These are found within the dermis and typically move against and overwhelm intruders that foreign to your body and debris.

Hair follicles offer more extra protection to certain parts of your body like the eyes and head.

Melanocytes protect the body from ultraviolet (UV) light.

The finger and toenails protect the extremities of fingers and toes from getting damage. On the other hand, your fingertips are very important for dexterity and the sense of touch. They have edged region to help in picking things up.

Keratin layers. Found in the epidermis together with sebum produced by sebaceous glands graciously act as a waterproof barrier.

The skin regulates body temperature. Vast amount of heat is lost through the skin. In fact, under severe situations such as high temperature and exercise, our skin tends to normalize our body temperature. The production (evaporation) of sweat in the skin cools you down when you’re exposed to too excess heat.

In reality you core body temperature needs to be kept constant for normal physiological activity to take place - that is 37° C. A core temperature for homeostasis needs to be maintained.

It provides sense of touch. Your skin is that organ that provides the sense of touch or sensation you need to know more about your outside environment. I am talking about such natural ability to recognize cold, heat, pain and other sensations. And the nerve endings of your skin provide the body with vast information concerning the outside atmosphere.
Your skin synthesizes the use of Vitamin D in the presence of sunlight and ultra violet (UV) radiation needed for the absorption of calcium and phosphate.

Skin excretes waste product and excess salt from the body. Sweat includes waste products in solution and water get lost on a continuous basis, through your skin as insensible sweating. Also temperature regulation occurs as increased water is loss through sweating.

Do you now see amazing work of inestimable value your skin is doing for you?

And yet we don’t take care of it properly. You should make yourself a pledge today to stat taking GOOD CARE of your skin. Remember that these vital functions cannot be performed by other organ in your body.
